8 years since my son and I made our last visit. Tamarack has made some nice improvements. Some units are remodeled with nice showers and new knotty pine and flooring. Better lighting and clean facilities in the fish house. Staff super friendly and helpful. Oh yeah, new burners and grills. And most importantly great fishing. Cold this week upon arrival but no bugs was a great trade off. Walleye were abundant all week with many 20+ in size. Pike were slow to start but picked up as the water warmed during the week and caught several 30+. While not fishing for Muskie we caught several and saw many others. Can’t beat the price anywhere else. Looking forward to getting back sooner than 8 more years!!

Just completed seven day ice fishing adventure... Popped holes all over the place and always caught fish. Paul, Cid, family and friends will take great care of you. Well marked and firm trail all the way to the island. Clean, warm comfortable cabins. A very unique and unforgettable experience.

Todd, Paul, and all the team are genuinely amazing. The location can’t be beat and the fishing is some of the best. Already booked next year. And the party will hopefully get a lot bigger for us. PB walleyes were caught and broken in the same trip. Memories of a lifetime. See you next year!!!!!

Just had the absolute best time up at Tamarack for Ladies Tamarack Takeover! Todd, Paul, Cid, and Andrew are the best crew - so welcoming and lovely. I feel like I have an extended family in Canada! Cannot wait to go back. Fishing and accomodations were wonderful. Highly recommend ice fishing!

Amazing stay! Came to Tamarack for a fall fishing trip with my Dad, our first trip to Lake of the Woods. We had a great time hanging out with the staff and other anglers in the main lodge swapping stories. The staff are some really great people and will make you feel part of the family. We opted for the meal plan and it was worth it, the food was some killer chow. If you bring your own boat, there is a designated boat landing/parking area for Tamarack's visitors. The journey from the boat landing to the lodge was pretty straight forward, very easy if you have a good chartplotter with a LakeMaster chip. They have power outlets down on the dock at every slip to charge your boat batteries and gas if you need to fill up. We also had a guide for a day to show us some hotspots which was worth it. Ask for Jaden. The cabin had everything we needed, comfortable beds, kitchen, refrigerator, and a bathroom with a nice shower. Overall, I highly recommend a stay at Tamarack. Can't wait to get back. Special thanks to Todd, Sydney, and Jaden. You guys are awesome.

Oh My! Another great visit in the books. Listen, this place is a gem! The staff and owner are excellent, facilities all you need. Oh and the fishing isn’t so bad either! Stayed in June, September, and March. Pick your season you won’t be disappointed.

The 2026 Ladies Trip at Tamarack Island Wilderness Lodge was such a fun experience. I spent three amazing days ice fishing and couldn’t have asked for a better place to do it. The staff were extremely welcoming, attentive, and genuinely passionate about making sure everyone had a great time! A special thank you to Todd, Cid, Paul, and Andrew. They all started as strangers, but by the end of the trip they truly felt like friends. Their kindness, humor, and willingness to help made the entire experience! One of the best parts of this trip, though, was the incredible group of women I met. I found a new group of girls that I truly believe I’ll know for years to come. Looking forward to next year!

The cabins are older traditional small rough cabins with all the basics for a fishing crew. The location, docs, boats, equipment, and service are top notch. The fishing is amazing for smallmouth, Walleye, pike and musky. Everyday we all caught fish! They have a cozy dinner cabin with satisfying meals. Personally, I love this place!
